Manchester United fans may soon have cause to cheer if the rumours making the rounds are anything to go by. Speculations abound that Manchester United have already agreed to sign 2 top quality players way ahead of the summer transfer window to beef up the squad. These two players have been on United’s radar for quite some time now.
Coming summer would indeed be very busy for the under fire Manchester United manager David Moyes as he attempts to rebuild his underachieving squad in preparation to launching a title bid next season.
A report in the The Guardian reads, “This newspaper’s information is that deals have already been provisionally agreed for two players in what promises to be an extensive recruitment programme over the summer. The club have deliberately tried to set up transfers six months in advance.
Joel Glazer has been more hands-on than many people might realise, speaking to the executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, three times a day on average from Florida and the club have been encouraged by the feedback from agents. Not once has there has been an indication that a player might be put off because of the prospect of playing in the Europa League next season.”
These unknown pair of players, who would be coming in from overseas, have reportedly agreed to join the Old Trafford outfit in the summer. With the exit of Nemanja Vidic from the club and Patrice Evra likely to follow suit, Moyes may be looking at William Carvalho, Seamus Coleman, and Luke Shaw as possible replacement for them.
Carvalho would be a good addition to the Red Devils giving his long term relationship with the Old Trafford side and the reports making the round that a fee had been agreed with the player. Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos, two other United’s transfer targets, who if they sign for the club, would definitely add a spark of fire and flair to United’s uninspiring midfield.
If for nothing else, this news if true, goes to show that some quality players are not put off and are willing to sign for United even if they may not be in the Champions League next season.
